Weeknotes 34 – mini (February 2026)

A mini weeknote since I have not actually been in work for a week!

I went to Singapore with my mum to celebrate Chinese New Year with her side of the family. The last time I went I was about 3 years old and I have precisely 2 memories of the trip (one of a cousin eating noodles, and the other of the red tins of prickly heat powder used to soothe heat rash). Apparently I slept a lot.

This was a big long trip, with extended travel as I first went to France to pick up my mum and accompany her to the airport to catch the Singapore flight, and approx. 13 hour flights from Charles de Gaulle to Changi airport. I also dropped my mum back off home before returning to the UK, so that meant about 30-36 hours of travel either side. Twas A Lot.

We had 6 days there with family, with some sightseeing and loads of family gatherings and meals.

Actually I wanted to write a weeknote to keep my streak going, but I returned home in the early hours of the morning and it’s all a bit too fresh, and I’m a bit too tired and jetlagged, to know what I want to write about here. So for now here’s a photo that sums up the trip for me, and I will return with reflections once I’ve processed.

A group photo of my extended Singapore family, after the Chinese New Year's Eve dinner. The ages range from 3 years old to 80+.
