Weeknotes 35 (March 2026)

This past week has been slow slow because of the jetlag, post Singapore trip. I have managed to do 1 big thing per day rather than 2-3, and I have slept lots. I have also been catching up with some people who I was long overdue seeing, as this year has again had a dark and relentless 59 days of Janbruary. 😀

At work:

  • Co-production resources project: Final bits of everything, dotting i’s and crossing t’s and uploading the final translations that were completed while I was away – all ready for the launch event on Thursday. I had hoped to attend it but I was too jetlagged and behind with other stuff so I stayed home and beamed good thoughts to the team and the event (which I hear went very well).
  • Website engagement project: On tickover at the moment, we’re on a small hiatus while the team finish developing the website for launch. Our engagement will pick up again once it’s live in a few weeks.
  • Health and social care event: Ticking over securing key stakeholders to attend, it’s still a few weeks away.
  • River catchment partnership project: Did some thinking and prep, and also met the catchment officer for a site visit. We were incredibly lucky to have a (rare) sunny afternoon to tromp around the river banks and estuary, and then transfer our planning and mapping to the tables outside a community pub. I brought the big sheets of paper I’d started to set out, and we filled in more of the details while the sun went down over the sea.

Deliverables this week:

  • Team away day facilitation: I wrote up the event notes while I was on the plane to Singapore. 😀 This week I tidied them up and gave them a coherent narrative, and sent off the report to the client.

Development this week:

  • Introduction to co-production training: Running 2 short sessions in the coming weeks so adapting my content to the audience and areas of focus.
  • Cultural competency training: Delivering a new session in a couple of weeks so compiling a session plan and slides based on the research I had done to develop (longer) training on this topic previously. Wrangling the order of the sections so they make sense and flow into one another, while being interactive and engaging, in 2 hours online.

At home:

  • Returned from Singapore and France in the early hours of Monday morning, so spent Monday sleeping and unpacking and doing laundry. I went to acupuncture and pilates in the late afternoon, to help re-calibrate myself, then downloaded and sorted out my phone photos, videos and recordings. I have a roll of camera film to take for developing – only one because my little camera jammed when I was changing the film and I did the rest of the trip using my phone camera. I’ll see if I can get it repaired also.
  • Welsh class: I had to give the class a miss on Wednesday because it started at 6.30pm and I was in bed by 6pm. I had nothing left to make it worth going to a 2 hour class where I would have had to wrangle sentences out of my brain! (I slept through till 6am the next day.)
  • This week was a 3 pilates week, it was a good week. 🙂
  • Swim: Went on Saturday afternoon at high tide, sea temperature 7 degC, stayed in 7 minutes as per the recommended guidelines (and the permeating feeling of cold!) and jumped in a hot shower as soon as I got home. It’d been many weeks since my last cold water dip and I’d missed it.
  • Socialising: I did 4 social things this week! A birthday party, a dinner, a cocktails and catchup outing, and a hang out on the sofa and catch up evening. I’m coming out of my winter shell, unfurling myself into the spring daylight like a fern.

A close-up photo of the tip of a fern frond, curling outwards and upwards - it's a very vivid light green, the background is blurry.
