Case study: guest lecture on systems change

Who: Black Mountains College, for their Systems Change course (2nd year) students.

My role: I was invited by the lead lecturer, to join him and another guest and contribute to a day’s session examining systems change and complexity. I offered my professional lens of working with co-production and relational practices, and contributed segments on complexity theory as applied to public services, and reflections on positionality. As well as sharing my thinking, and some tools and resources, I supported the day, responded to questions, and contributed to the discussions and supported the students’ reflections.

They were a lovely group to work with, and they generated great questions and reflections. It was a really nice experience to work alongside the module lead and the other guest lecturer, and to support such an engaged and curious group.
