Weeknotes 33 (February 2026)

It’s Friday 13th, dun dun duuuuun.

Been flat out this week getting things tied up before being away in Singapore for a whole week (and the week-ends on either side also). I am bringing bits of work with me: some thinking and planning, and also some writing up of notes which is slow and painstaking and the perfect activity for downtime in airports and planes. (I found this out on my last trip).

At work:

  • Co-production resources project: The website is nearing completion ready for launch. I’m waiting for a couple of translations and the digital team is finetuning their thing, but we’re 95% there. I designed a few more documents, and uploaded all of the co-production resources and case studies with their translations. I have a half-day planned when I return to do the final adjustments, and it will be ready for the launch event.
  • Website engagement project:Final phase of engagement, short and sweet, completed. We have agreed to run an additional phase of engagement in March when the website has gone live, to gather more feedback and insights. I have been titling this “website co-production project” because that’s what the client is calling it, but it’s engagement, really. (The distinction matters to me.)
  • Project supporting team development: Examined all the documents I have been sent, mapped what actions are needed, and made a plan of action. Going to produce some outputs and support the team to develop their skills and confidence with the visual layouts of their reporting. We’ll also, and more importantly, map out their processes and find the improvements that can be implemented. So: skills, workflows, and hopefully through the process, working relationships.
  • Health and social care event: Conversations are ongoing to secure key stakeholders. I will keep an eye on this while I am away – the third sector organisations have signed up, but the statutory partners are slower to commit.

Deliverables this week:

  • Team away day facilitation: A housing sector charity’s team and board away day, about 20 people in the morning, down to 10 in the afternoon. I was teetering on the edge of a migraine all day BUT although I felt subpar the feedback was 100% positive and everyone took something away from it.

Development this week:

  • River catchment partnership project: The first meeting took place. This project is big! I’m going to be working with the catchment officer for the next 12 months, on collaboration and on community engagement. This will move into the “at work” section now. The next meeting is just after I return so I’m taking my notes to do some thinking and planning.

At home:

  • Welsh class (and a catch-up on last week’s recording). We are doing a lot of conversations, the teacher is preparing us for the exam (which is optional and which I’m not doing but it’s good practice). I start off with decent sentences, althought my mutations are still pretty much non-existent, but as the class progresses my sentences turn more and more into VERB + NOUN + ADJECTIVE without all the small linking words! 😀 Ah well.
  • This week was a 3 pilatesweek, it was a good week. 🙂
  • No swimthis weekend or next as I will be travelling to Paris to meet my mum then on to Singapore, and the same in reverse. No swim in the cold waters of Penarth, but I’m hoping to make it to a tropical beach! I’m off early in the morning tomorrow, bags are 99% packed, and my out of office message is about to go on.

An open suitcase containing denim short, a top, and an open toiletry bag with bottles spilling out of it. Next to the case, shoes, sunglasses, a laptop and a camera.
