At work:
- Co-production resources project: progressing with many small meetings, lots of exchanges with translators, and writing up key resources and case studies as well as fragments of linkage text like little blog posts and summary pages. Working towards everything being ready to upload on the 13th Feb, before I go on leave.
- Website co-production project: interviews and focus groups, and lots of liaising with the client teams writing the content and building the website, as the pace intensifies. These phases of engagement must be completed and all notes and reports fed in by the 13th Feb. We may do an additional phase of feedback once it’s live in March though, which would be useful, so hopefully this shall come to pass!
- Project supporting team development: on pause – it seems different objectives and deliverables are being required by other parts of the organisation, so I may need to pivot and change the planning. Awaiting clarification.
- Health and social care event: developed the outline session plan, wrote a speakers’ briefing document, currently drafting an invitation message that frames the purpose and objectives – all the early docs needed to secure the attendance of key stakeholders over the next couple of weeks. After I return, I can plan the detail of the session (the outline is sufficient at this stage) – the event’s not till mid March.
Deliverables this week:
- Just lots of little interim bits, especially for the two big ongoing projects with a looming deadline.
Development this week:
- Lovely chat with a new organisation – I might become an associate to deliver some training for them. We’re doing a test session in March and then we’ll see!
- Invitation to quote, developing a river catchment partnership – pulled together a proposal for the Co-production Lab Wales. We’ve done a few of these environmental partnership projects now, and they’re always interesting, so fingers crossed we get the work.
- Briefing meeting for an organisational team day – I’m facilitation a whole team and board day for a charity in a couple of weeks, so I had a briefing / framing meeting with the CEO. I’m already thinking about all the things I can design into the structure of the day 🙂 – I love designing and facilitating workshops!
At home:
- Went back to pilates this week, finally, after a big hiatus since before Christmas due to illness and workworkwork.
- Car MOT this week! I have stayed with the same garage for years, even though I don’t live anywhere near them any more, because they’re excellent. So I sat in a cafe with my laptop for the morning, and plugged away at all the little jobs, while life and dogs happened around me.
- Returned to Welsh class this week after missing 2 weeks (due to workworkwork). I had caught up on the lesson recordings, and also I’ve been listening to BBC Radio Cymru in the car a lot (even though I understand maybe 1/10th of what they’re talking about), and as a result I didn’t feel quite as rusty and helpless as I expected to.
- Did a sea swim: 5 minutes again, the water is cold (6.5 degC). I forgot my gloves and boots which I left drying on the radiator. It was SO COLD!! We have decided to go to Keeper’s Pond next weekend, where the water is going to be colder, but this time I won’t forget my kit!
- Did a big clean and reset of the house, oiled the squeaky hinges on the bathroom door, repotted the maidenhair fern into a self-watering pot (because I keep neglecting it and it’s gone crispy round the edges), then had a big BIG sleep. I thought I might catch up with people I’d not managed to see (due to, you guessed it, illness and workworkwork) but actually lots of solitude and lots of sleep were exactly what I needed.
