Weeknotes 41 (April 2026)

At work:

  • Tax return done, and systems set up for 2026-27. Also a bunch of filing and organising relevant info in advance of a financial advisor meeting, to review my income protection insurance, pension, and other usful bits.

Deliverables this week:

  • A reflective workshop for a team of peer support workers. Wrote up and sent the insights and comments.
  • A handover of templates and tools for a team to produce their engagement summaries in visual form.

Development this week:

  • With a freelance colleague we’ve put in a joint response to an invitation to tender to support some community engagement, a fairly big and sustained project over 12 months. Fingers crossed.
  • A scoping chat with a charity looking to embed new ways of working and culture, followed by a proposal setting out different options. This will be dependent on locating funding.

At home:

  • Non-exec role: ongoing meetings and check-ins with the team as we work through the processes.
  • I drove back from Belgium on (bank holiday) Monday, and it took all day, and then Tuesday I was so useless haha. I think apart from picking up little bits my greatest achievement was doing laundry.
  • I’m finally sorting out the whole car situation after being rear ended last month. It’s complicated and drawn out and a whole of lot of admin and many phone calls to the insurance with different rounds of advice, because the other person isn’t cooperating.
  • 2 pilates this week because of being away on Monday. No swim because the tides were against us. I’ve just started walking again on the days where I don’t have pilates.
  • I’m in a draught with Welsh. I’ve missed classes, it’s been Easter break, I’m going to miss another one because of a work event. Struggling to re-find my footing with this.
  • I’m feeling a bit flat at the moment.
