For Monday 1st June – Sunday 7th June 2026.
At work:
- Catchment project – progressing nicely! Making plans for engagement activities over the summer, and connecting with other stakeholders. Been my main focus this week, lots has happened after an initially slow start. It’s very encouraging.
Deliverables this week:
- No specific deliverables, just developing an engagement plan and timeline for the catchment project above, but still work in progress.
Development this week:
- Did some more work on the proposal to support the development of a regional citizen voice governance body.
- I have been forgetting to mention it in previous weeknotes, but I’ve been attending a really good webinar series about various aspects of dialogue and decision making in organisations.
- Also attended 2 training sessions on trauma-informed practice in the last few weeks. Been feeding my brain!
At home:
- Last but one Welsh lesson this week! Next week is the exam (it’s optional and I’m not taking it but some of my classmates are) and the last lesson of the year. I’ll have to make myself a little revision plan for the summer. Also I must do (want to do) way better next year – my attendance has been poor and I’ve done barely any homework this year, especially compared to the last. There have been reasons and all that, but if I want to progress more (which I do) I need to prioritise this learning.
- No swim this weekend because the high tide times were late in the day and everyone was busy by that point.
- My motorbike is back from the garage (serviced and MOT’d, later than usual this year because of reasons but she’s finally back on the road!) and I went for a ride with an old friend who only recently got a bike again. We had coffees at various biker cafes and waved at other bikers on the way.
- Finally started reading the books about the menopause that I ordered a few months ago. (You are aware that buying books and reading books are two entirely separate hobbies, yes? 😀 ) I feel like the perimenopause has been kicking my ass more in the past few months, and it’s affecting my sleep most of all. If I can figure out how to get better sleep I’ll feel a lot more human.
- No pilates on Monday, I was bone tired and went back to bed instead. I did go Wednesday and Friday though. Went to HIIT on Tuesday but not on Thursday, because also, so tired.
- Been so tired all week and doing only the minimum necessary (at work and at home both) – turns out, as well as the perimenopause as mentioned above, I’ve also been succumbing to tonsillitis again, which declared itself properly at the weekend, and I ended up at out-of-hours GP on a Sunday afternoon again, to get antibiotics, AGAIN. I hope it properly goes this time. Bleh.
- Sold the waterrower! It was picked up on Sunday evening and I now have space to put up more bookshelves, hehehe.
