Weeknotes 42 (April 2026)

At work:

  • Partnership and engagement project: continuing to develop a partnership and think about future engagement, for a team operating in a very challenging area subject to strong political scrutiny and public concern.

Deliverables this week:

  • Main focus has been the board away day, in north Wales, so final preparations and travel, as well as a pre-event and dinner the evening before, then facilitating a whole day of reflections and discussions. It went very well and I came back very brain dead – the sign of rich and fruitful conversations! 🙂 Just tidying up the notes to share now.

Development this week:

  • I got the contract for the “managing change” leadership workshop in May, yay!

At home:

  • 2 pilates this week, I had a clash with acupuncture for the 3rd session. No swim, I woke up with a sore throat at the weekend and had a restful day pottering about the house instead and doing not much at all.
  • Appointment with a new IFA (independent financial advisor), my previous one having moved on to a different job. Doing a big review of insurances, pension, etc. Got some follow-ups and some sorting out to do over the next few weeks, will be good to get everything squared off.
  • Had a coaching session in which I focused on feeling so ungrounded at the moment, feeling oddly floaty and unfocused, and managing to do work on a just-in-time reactive basis, which means I’m staying afloat but I don’t like it. It’s not my usual style.
  • Think the perimenopause is kicking my ass at the moment, and talked to my acupuncturist about it; have started a course of treatments specifically for this.
  • Finally sorting out the car! I have a plan and she’s booked in for the repairs in May.
