Weeknotes 51 (June 2026)

For Monday 15th June – Sunday 21st June 2026.

At work:

  • Catchment project: Finished and sent off the comms and engagement delivery plan to the client team for comment and finetuning. Then I started on my bit of the actions – so many actions! Much to plan, many variables. I did a bunch this week but also got a bit overwhelmed, there’s so much to attend to and I only have about half a day a week to work on this. I have been making up for the slow project start with a bit of an extra push recently, but now I need to pace myself and prioritise in the time available.
  • Cultural Competence training: Prepped a session for delivery next week.

Deliverables this week:

  • Sent the Cultural Competence slides in advance of the training session.

Development this week:

  • Website: I updated the facilitation page and made the layout nicer – it took ages! I want to do the same with the other pages and reorganise the structure so I’ll be picking away at this over the coming weeks / months when I have a gap. (This doesn’t too often so it will take the time it takes.)
  • Blog: I also wrote up 8 case studies, that also took ages! I had such a backlog including from the end of last year – I’ve made a system to stay on top of them in future and write them as soon as the project is finished.

At home:

  • Welsh: Made myself a summer revision programme for the 12 weeks of break, using the online resources that go with our course. Also, listening to the radio I found out about Dros Dro, a band from Carmarthenshire whose stuff I really like, and I’ve downloaded all their song lyrics as a bit of fun extra practice.
  • Pilates: Missed one because I was in the throes of writing the engagement and comms delivery plan and I really needed to just. get. it. finished – but I did the other two session this week. Also 2x HIIT.
  • Swim: Went down for a dip on Sunday lunchtime, which was also summer solstice, and it was a beautiful day.

The slipway at Penarth beach, there are people in the water and sitting in the sun, and the sky is dotted with interesting clouds. The sea is very tranquil.
