Tl;dr: Minimal week because the medical saga continued (and concluded).
For Monday 27th July – Sunday 2nd August 2026.
At work:
- Catchment project: stocktake and forward planning for the deliverables and project end.
- Engagement coordination project: supporting the team and planning the work.
- Strategy co-design project: designed a co-design session, made progress on internal comms.
Deliverables this week:
- Nothing outward facing this week, just background prep.
Development this week:
- Remembered that I hadn’t heard back from a tender I’d submitted ages ago, and I checked on the system, and it looks like I uploaded all my response documents but didn’t press the “submit” button somehow, they’re all still in drafts. DOH. Kicking myself a bit, after all the work I put into it. Ah well.
At home:
- Had a minor gynae intervention end of last week and I did not recover from it well. Lost a couple of days lying on the sofa feeling exhausted and in pain. My friend who is in the middle of the north sea working on offshore wind turbines had cookies delivered to me because I was being a child napping on the sofa. Eventually realised I was really not getting better, had an emergency follow-up, and they sorted it all out. Within half an hour the pain had gone and the next day I was back to normal.
- I did a couple of days of DIY and sorting out the flat, with a focus on my family visiting soon. Then finally did work at the weekend to move my projects along and make up for the days I lost in the week.
- No pilates or HIIT as I wasn’t well enough, but back on it next week. Went for a swim on Sunday.
- I have ordered, at fantastical cost, but to my immense satisfaction: a customisable floor to ceiling cat tree, which has a tiny floor footprint (basically just the base of the pole), which screws into the ceiling for stability, is super well designed, will be long lasting and sustainable, and to which I can add more items and accessories as the cat’s needs evolves. So expensive. So nice. I’m not sure if I’m treating myself or the cat more. I will install it at the end of my work shelving, and then my little office world will be complete with my folders and resources, my ecofuel burner for the winter, my lushious plants, and A CATTO IN A TREE.
