Weeknotes 58 (August 2026)

Tl;dr: My uncles are here! 🥰
For Monday 3rd August – Sunday 9th August 2026.

At work:

  • Catchment project: Increasing focus on deliverables, including contributing to a phase 2 bid. (Which I may or may not be involved in, but regardless, I will be advocating for engagement to be woven through.)
  • Engagement coordination project: The workplan is coming together for the coming months, and I’m going to Wrexham for a day’s work in a couple of weeks.
  • Strategy co-design project: Developing some co-design engagement toolkits through a co-design process. It’s all a bit meta. (I love it.)

Deliverables this week:

  • Catchment project: Wrote up and published an engagement evaluation paper, and the findings from a set of semi-structured interviews.

Development this week:

  • Some client projects being loosely discussed in the pipeline. Watch this space.
  • Sikrit project: Started this a year ago and then had to leave it on the back burner, but the website renewal prompted a check-in and this is back on the table. Still sikrit for now though.

At home:

  • Made elderberry cordial. (First time ever. I always make elderflower in the spring and then forget about the berries.) It took AGES separating the ripe berries from the unripe and the stalks, but the cordial is pretty good. May or may not make some again in future years. 🙂
  • HIIT twice this week. (I’ve decided to alternate HIIT and pilates weeks, except this month it’s going to be mainly HIIT because of scheduling reasons.)
  • Finished getting the flat organised and ready for my family to visit, turned the living room into a spare bedroom. Went to fetch my uncles from the airport, and have been doing touristy visits across south east Wales, but also cooking and chatting. It’s lovely to have them here for a week.

A painting of the estuary at Clevedon. The sky is heavy with moody clouds, and there is light and shade playing across the landscape.
