Weeknotes 54 (July 2026)

For Monday 6th July – Sunday 12th July 2026.

At work:

  • Catchment project: our very first beach engagement event went super well! The stand looked great and the team spoke to over 100 people, it’s been very useful.
  • Strategy co-design project: session 2 and all the follow-ups, write-ups, and planning session 3 off the back of it.
  • Engagement coordination project: planning meeting, getting underway properly now.

Deliverables this week:

  • Strategy co-design project: as above – did workshop #2, which was a reflection on #1 and prep for #3.

Development this week:

  • Been asked to speak about a project I worked on (where we talked to a bunch of women to develop the women’s health website for Wales). The theme of the event is women’s health (it’s a ministerial event), the morning is about pain and the afternoon about women’s voices. The audience will be the minister and some civil servants as well as a bunch of leaders and managers from health boards. I’ve managed to include an XKCD comic in the middle of my very serious slides so I’m pretty pleased with myself 😁 (That’s probably the main thing they’re going to remember tbh.) Sent them off for translation because they need to be bilingual. (For the first time in modern Welsh history we have a cabinet that is fully Welsh speaking! It’s awesome!)

At home:

  • 3 pilates this week, no HIIT, still trying to figure out a rhythm that works for me to fit everything in that I like to do, as well as having some space.
  • Swim on Sunday, turned into a many families beach thing around one of the swim girls’ birthdays, it was lush. The water was warm and there was cake!
  • Researched and booked a yurt for 2 nights and 1 whole day of doing NOTHING at the weekend, in the cool under the trees in West Wales. Was good to get R&R away from the flat where the office and the unfinished DIY jobs are looking at me.

A yurt in a glade, surrounded by trees with chairs on the patio and a picnic bench on the grass in front.
